Modern Venus
Original master piece, Venus de Milo was created in ancient days. In this reason, I could not find connection between the sculpture and myself. I was thinking about what how to make more connected to myself and to other individuals as well. Then I realized that the way of using marble took apart individuals and the work. So, I changed the body to glass, which gives individuals to be more familar. Using glass gave transparent visual and looks like it was created with material like crystal. And using red and green checkered pattern, I intended to express feeling of looks like zoomed in screen of television. In this way, I could be more familiar with Venus and devlope "Modern Venus."
